The South Dakota Capitol building in Pierre, South Dakota, is home to a beautiful display of Christmas trees each holiday
season. In 2007, the Korkow family decorated a tree in honor of the 60th Anniversary of Korkow Rodeos. Their tree
was adorned with western and cowboy ornaments plus handmade ornaments supporting the brand, "Anchor K".
They again decorated a tree in 2009 in dedication to "Rodeo, the Official Sport of South Dakota". Along
with the western ornaments from 2007's tree they included an ornament honoring each of the associations
that sanction a rodeo/western event in South Dakota in the youth, amateur and professional ranks. They also had decorations
promoting the newly opened Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center in Ft. Pierre. Please visit the website link below or
call 605-494-1094 for more information about this historical museum which is dedicated to the sport of South Dakota rodeo;
the history and its stars.
