Korkow Rodeos and the Korkow family was named by the Prairie Family Business Association as the
2010 Prairie Family Business of the Year - Runner Up. Korkow Rodeos was first named as the winner
of the "Excellence in Family Business" award in the Pierre Area by the Pierre (South Dakota) Chamber of
Commerce and then were eligible for the 3-state region award.
The Prairie Family Business Association was founded
in 1993 as South Dakota Family Business Initiative with the express mission of enhancing the long-term survival and success
of its family business members. Today, this focus is maintained through three streams of emphasis: - Involving,
educating, and recognizing the accomplishments of our members
- Building alliances with complementary organizations
- Sharing
resources with potential members
The Prairie Family Business Association has a desire to recognize the
successes of exemplary family firms - those with a rich heritage, strong values, community involvement, and that have weathered
the metaphorical storms of family enterprise. The Korkow family is proud to have been considered deserving of this recognition
and honor.
